CES Drilling Fluids

CES has a comprehensive suite of proprietary and patented drilling fluids suited for the diverse geological formations and drilling methods employed in Canada and the United States. CES’ drilling fluid systems are designed to help clients eliminate inefficiencies in the drilling process and to assist them in meeting operational objectives and environmental compliance obligations.

CES’ technical services group creates a customized drilling program for each well. Our field technicians monitor the chemical composition and physical properties of the drilling fluids at the well site and relay the information back to CES operations. The operations team then analyses the data to determine if modifications or enhancements are required to optimize the drilling program.

The CES drilling fluids division operates as Canadian Energy Services in Canada and AES Drilling Fluids in the US.

Transportation and Logistics

CES owns and operates an extensive fleet of trucks and trailers specifically designed to transport products in the oil and gas industry. Our personnel are certified in the hauling and handling of all industry products including drilling fluids, production chemicals, H2S scavengers and hydrochloric acid. Our fleet of tankers, trailers, pressure trucks, treater trucks and acid haulers operates across Canada and US under our Equal, AES and Jacam Catalyst trucking divisions.

Production and Specialty Chemicals

We design, manufacture and sell an extensive line of production specialty chemicals with a focus on providing solutions to enhance the customers’ competitive advantage. Our chemists continue to develop patented and proprietary solutions to meet the evolving challenges of oil and gas production and stimulation. A team of technical experts monitor and analyze performance to ensure maximum efficiencies are being recognized.

Our Canadian division operates as PureChem Services and our US division operates as Jacam Catalyst.

Environmental Services

CES provides environmental, waste and water management solutions to Operators active in the WCSB through its Clear Environmental Solutions (“Clear”) division. Clear focuses on vertical integration of environmental services, beginning with environmental pre-planning; and continuing through drilling, completions and the subsequent reclamation phases of an oil and gas well. Clear’s business model focuses on providing consultation services and support for their customer’s resource development needs by helping them navigate through an ever changing regulatory framework. Clear’s service lines help operators deal with wetland impacts, water security/management, water transmission, waste management (storage, treatment & disposal) and a variety of other services. Clear has also established strategic partnerships with cutting edge technology providers that have shown that their ideas could change the landscape of hydrocarbon production and minimize its impact to the environment.

Laboratory Services

CES laboratories are a significant contributor to our success; they enable us to perform world-class research and development on new and improved product offerings as well as ongoing analysis of customer programs.

CES operates six state of the art research and development facilities including several satellite laboratories that perform routine analytical services in many of our local service areas across North America. In 2016, CES significantly expanded its R&D capabilities in Calgary with the opening of its new laboratory and technology center. All satellite laboratories are equipped with essential instrumentation and certain specialized equipment, depending on formation requirements.

To refine and mass produce new technological advances, CES has manufacturing and reaction facilities in the United States and Canada that can perform both low and high temperature chemical reactions.

ISO 9001

The Chemical Manufacturing facilities in Sterling, Kansas; Sonora, Texas; Carlyle, Saskatchewan; Nisku, Alberta; and Delta, British Columbia are all registered to the ISO 9001:2015 Standard. These Quality Tools and practices are employed throughout the whole of Canadian Energy Services and its divisions. CES adheres to our Quality Policy which states:

We are focused on delivering “best-in-class” service to our customers. This is achieved through documented information that is communicated and understood for all processes. This will allow for a commitment to continually improve our Quality Management System and to provide superior products, accurate quantities and timely deliveries. Maintaining a safe and clean work environment is critical to achieving these goals.
